The candidates, initiatives and measures ��listed below earned ��’s endorsement in the general election on Nov. 5 by representing the pro-education perspective and values of �� members.

Candidates for office earned their endorsements through interviews with �� members and answering��questionnaires about their positions on education policy.��

Proposition 1 — ��Defeated
69.8% to 30.2%

��’s Board of Directors endorsed Proposition 1 on Nov. 5’s general election ballot in support of creating open primary elections in Idaho. Approval of the ballot initiative��would have ensured elected policymakers would be more accountable to all Idahoans — not just a single group — with better public school policy being the result.

Endorsed Candidates for Legislative Seats

��’s Political Action Committee for Education interviewed dozens of candidates seeking endorsement by �� members during 2024’s election cycle. Each was carefully considered for their views on public education policy.

Twenty-eight of ��’s endorsed candidates won their election and will take their seat in the Idaho Legislature in January 2025.

�� members believe good education policy is non-partisan, and this bi-partisan list of candidate endorsements reflects that principle. As always, pro-public education policy stances — not political party affiliation — were the primary requirement to earn an �� member endorsement.

✔ ��BONDS & LEVIES

Twenty-five school districts across Idaho asked local voters to approve nearly $250 million in bonds and levies at the polls on Nov. 5 — and, with a few notable exceptions, most voters stepped up for public schools.

�� members encouraged voters to approve these measures because of the important fundamental funding most of them provide to local schools.

However, the fact that school districts must ask local taxpayers to foot the bill for ordinary expenses through these extraordinary measures is the best evidence of��Idaho’s chronic underfunding of public education.
